BSA Troop 191

The annual holiday troop meeting will be held on Thursday December 20, 2012 beginning at 6:30 PM. Senior Patrol Leaders will be gathering headcounts from each patrol so that pizza can be ordered. Gifts should be $15.00.

The annual township road cleanup fundraiser will be held on Saturday December 1, 2012. Scouts and adults should plan to meet at the scout building (Bethlehem Township Municipal Garage) at 9:00 AM. Adult volunteers are needed. 100% of proceeds from this fundraiser are deposited to scout accounts. Look for the signup at the troop meeting as online signups are no longer done.

Annual dues are due by the troop meeting on Thursday November 29. Dues may be paid by scout account or check made payable to Troop 191.

The monthy PLC scheduled for November 27 will be held as planned beginning at 6:30PM at the Bethlehem Township Community Center.

Due to storm related damage and trees down at the scout reservation (OSR) the crossover camping trip has been changed to a crossover hike to meet the Cub Scout requirements for Arrow of Light. The hike will be on Saturday December 8.

Weekly troop meetings will resume at the Ethel Hoppock Middle School beginning at 7:30 PM.

Below are some reminders since there has not been a meeting in two weeks due to the recent storm power outages and school closures:

1. West Point Camporee – Recently email was sent about the West Point Camporee application process and talent release. The scouts have been planning skits for the application and will rehearse those skits and possibly record them if ready. If you previously checked "No" on the BSA Medical Form and want your son to participate in the application video you must complete a new release that will be used exclusively for this purpose.
2. Annual Dues are due tonight – We will be completing the yearly troop re-charter process next week and must know the scouts planning to continue in the scouting program next year. This year the annual dues have risen to $75.00. Dues can be paid by scout account or check made payable to Troop 191. As usual this and other scouting related costs can be greatly reduced or even eliminated through participation in fundraising efforts. We still need volunteers to coordinate and drive fundraisers each year.
3. Sandy Relief Service Project – Please see email sent on 11/14 for details and items needed for this service project. Items may be brought to the troop meeting tonight and the scouts will prepare for transport.
